Two friends robbed at gunpoint

Police report WAS filed

Date of occurrence: 6/16/2011

Approx time: 12:45am

Nearby street intersections: 9th st and Alexander Alley

Brief description:

I was awoken to someone knocking at my door. I was not expecting anybody, so it was very strange. After carefully determining that it was a friend who was knocking, I answered the door. My friend notified me that he and another friend were just robbed at gunpoint in the alley where 9th St. & Alexander Alley intersect.

They were walking from Sycamore South on 9th, the thief was walking North on 9th. The thief continued to walk North on 9th towards Sycamore after the incident. Nobody was injured, but the thief took everything, keys, cell phones, wallets, ect. The police were called and came quickly, but the thief was not caught. (Click here to view CBW’s Personal Safety Tips page).

Male, slightly tall, skinny, african american. Was wearing all black with a hood and had black dew rag covering his face.

  1. Did they have iPhones? The iPhone has a tracking feature. I have my iPhone & iPad tracking services activated. I also have a LoJack installed on my car. I think the more we can do to be proactive and prepared, the better. Including always being aware of our surroundings. At all times. Glad no one was hurt.

Neither had iPhones, but that is a great reminder / feature one should have activated.
In fact, the theif made off with no cash, two semi-broken cell phones and their keys…pretty much nothing of any value, or worth robbing someone at gunpoint, for that matter.
