Bike Stolen From Fenced in Yard

Police report WAS filed

Date of occurrence: 07/30/2012

Approx time: 05:30 AM

Nearby street intersections: Columbus and Macon

Brief description:

My bike was stolen out of our yard (privacy fence all around) and the thief left another bike (in bad condition) in its place. Happened at approximately 5:30am (I heard my dog barking but did not get up to investigate).
The bike is a Schwinn, blue and white with cracked upholstery on the seat. It has a black square “hook” where the front reflector used to be – it’s where a basket hooks onto the front.

    Sorry for your loss.

Something very similar happened to my bike…it was stolen from my fenced-in porch in broad daylight.

Any chance of getting some fingerprints from the thieve’s bike?

I thought about that – I told the police report that they left a bike, but I’m not sure that this is serious enough for the police to want to get fingerprints off of it. I still have it in my yard (unless they came by today and took it back!) I would be more than happy to hand it over to whoever, but wasn’t sure how to go about doing that… any suggestions are welcome! :)
