Police report WAS filed

Date of occurrence: 08/16/2013

Approx time: 12:00 AM

Nearby street intersections: JAEGER ST AND STEWART AVE

Brief description:

I came home from work tonight to find the alley-side door of my garage open. It was closed when I left. The zip tie that I had placed on the emergency release latch (to prevent outside break-ins) was broken. I assume that my dogs started barking, thinking that I was home, and scared the person away. This is the third time in less than a year that my garage has been broken into. I have security lights, alarm warning signs, and electronic sensor on the yard-side door. Twice I have had bikes stolen but at first glance, nothing appears to be missing this time. I have now wired the emergency release latch, but I honestly don't know what else to do.

Call the police station ask if they can send an officer out to show you how you can improve your security around the house, garage and yard. They will be happy to help you.
