car window broken

Police report WAS filed

Date of occurrence: 07/20/2014

Approx time: 4:30 AM

Nearby street intersections: Macon Alley

Brief description:

two young adults busted out my car window at 5 am. I woke up to the sound and watched them sneak back to try and enter the car in front of my house. I have lived here now for three weeks. What I am wondering is how much this site helps. All the reports are after the fact. Would an active neighborhood watch be more effective? To actively monitor the streets? If so I would volunteer.

Two white kids in their young twenties, well versed in standing clear of motion detector lights and watching out for each other.

My garage faces your house. Maybe we caught them on video. As far as your observation about the site I believe there’s value in it. Why don’t you come to one of the GV meetings with the police. If you call the GV Society they can tell you when the next one is. I’ll come introduce myself.

You did not indicate if the police were called, but I am glad that you filed a report. Hopefully you did cal the police by calling 911 as a crime was in progress based upon your statement, and hopefully you shared with the dispatcher a clear and complete description of the perps (height, color of hair, any facial hair, clothing, and shoes). Remember a phone call to 911 with a good description that brings the CPD to your area is a good thing.

  3. Dan- I called 911 at the time of the incident and gave a description of the two men and said they were still out there at the car. I was put through to a police line which put me on hold. I hung up and called 911 again and that time a car was dispatched. A police car arrived in a few minutes and said another car was looking also while he took a report from me. He already had the description I gave on the phone.

Candy – thanks for the invite to the GV meetings. I will look in to when the next one is.
